Pileated Woodpecker
I managed to get a coupla pics of this guy the other day through the window--if I open the door he flies away. We saw three at once the other day. They are amazingly large woodpeckers. We get several different kinds of woodpeckers at the suet feeder in the winter.

Jill Is Here
I would like to introduce Jill. On July 5, 2005, we had to have our precious Smokey put to sleep due to old age and illness. We said we would not get another dog. After 2 years and almost 9 months this precious little dog was offered to us. If you read my blog--you will know little Joey. This one of 2 Jack Russell Terriers owned by Little Joey's mom. Jill is 2 years old and was very jealous of the baby, to the point that where ever the baby laid--Jill peed. My daughter asked us about 3 weeks ago if we would take her. After much thought we decided to do so. I think she will bring much joy into our lives, just as Smokey did. So far she is doing well. Please pray for a good adjustment as she has always had 6 year old Jackie as a companion. She has only been here since 4:15 this afternoon. She is a joy. Will post pics soon of little Joey--who by the way I found out Andi does not want him called Joey--so in the future I will refer to him as Joe Joe. After all it is not my baby. Also will post some pics of the big sister's prom dress--gorgeous, just gorgeous. She will be 17 next month. How time does fly. Well, happy knitting.

More Petals and a Lace Scarf
Normally, I get bored making the same thing more than once, I can't seem to stop making these petal dishcloths!!! Instant gratification--I think that is what it's called. Ah well. I take a break from my bigger project and make a petal dishcloth in about 1 1/2 hours. I am working on the falling water lace scarf. It is a pattern I found on ravelry. It is called Falling Water. Can't wait to finish it so I can block it. Have worked on it here and there. I have a hard time sitting and knitting for long periods. I like to be up and moving. Therefore knitting and crocheting is how I relax. I am making it from lace weight yarn so working it on 48 sts--which gives 5 repeats. I think it will be really pretty. The yarn is Knit Picks Shadow--color Oregon Trail on size #5 needles. Happy Knitting!

Some FO's
I made the Irish Hiking Scarf from Paton's Decor (could not find a name for the color on the ball band) It was made on size #8 needles. I really like the way it turned out. The pattern is available for free here. I also made (guess) another petal dishcloth, pattern available here. It, too, is made on size #8 needles from Lily's Sugar and Cream color Seashore. Last but not least is an "I See Stars Hat." The hat was designed by April K and you can find the pattern on her blog here. It is made with Paton's Wool, color burgundy, on size #10 DP needles and was fun to make. Am going to go work now on a Chevron Scarf from the book "Last Minute Knitted Gifts" I started this scarf before Christmas and am only a little over a third of the way done with it. It has been hibernating. On size #5 needles I am finding that it takes forever--but is really very pretty. Happy Knitting!!

Eye Candy
Just a little eye candy for ya. Little Joey will be 5 months old on the 19th. The trio is Little Joey, his big brother Ian, and my baby daughter Andi--Joey's mom. Big bro Nathanial was upstairs on the computer and Dad and Ashly were not home. Got to have lunch out today with my mom, daughter and little Joey. We had a great time. I am finally well enough for some quality family time. Not sure what I had, but it sure did kick my you know what. Little Joey is sure growing up fast--cooing, laughing rolling over. And he sure likes to be held--while you are standing--maybe just a wee bit spoiled. Happy knitting to all.

Now Some Knitting
A praying hands dish cloth and believe it or not another petal dishcloth. I am so addicted to this petal dishcloth and they do make great gifts. I am about halfway done with an Irish Hiking Scarf from Hello Yarn and when it is done I will post pics. Happy Knitting!
Almost Spring
And this is 12 hours after the ice storm was over. The beauty of it and the mess. And on the news today they said spring is only 15 days away. We shall see. And it was 64 degrees on Monday--and another winter storm is supposed to be coming in on Friday. Me thinks that it is time for spring. And then let the clean up begin.
