Felting Frenzy!

Well here is some more knitting 4 Eileen Totes. Ravelry link. 2 are made with Noro Kureyon and 2 with wisdom poems--these were combined with various scrap wools. One is mine--one gifted to my Mom--and the other 2 gifted to 2 of my daughters. My oldest daughter requested the yarn to make her own. So all had a Merry Christmas. Happy knitting.

Happily Knitting

Well--I learned something new a coupla weeks ago. Fair Isle, Stranded knitting--and it is so so easy. I am already making my second pillow and hope to do some hats soon. The pattern is called October Fair Isle Pillow (Ravelry Link) from KateJacksonKnits. She is a designer on ravelry and owns my favorite LYS in Chardon, Ohio called Knitting on the Square. She is also published--but can't think of where right now. I know that Vogue knitting has published her, but not sure who else. KotS is the best little yarn shop I know where you can go and knit, knit, knit. I have made great friends there. And my Mom and daughter love to go also.

I knit about 20 Chemo hats and donated them to the Look Good Feel Better program for women that is sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The pattern can be found on this page by scrolling down. It is called the Saturday Afternoon Hat--and if you have ever made hats, you know they go pretty quickly. I made the 20 hats in 2 weeks.

I will not have any test results until next week. Happy Knitting.

And Life Goes On

No pics to post. Just thought I'd let you all know why I have been busy. My husband was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation this past week--so we have been running. Dr.'s, labs, etc. He has been getting extremely fatigued and short of breath for weeks now with any kind of exertion--and he finally--yes finally--went to the Dr.'s. He thought the whole thing was respiratory and here it was cardiac. We had to get a new family doc a few years ago--and I really like the one we got--but now I really really like him. He spent 2 hours with my husband at a squeeze in appt. on Wed. in his office. Called his cardiologist etc. Had my husband walking up and down the hall monitoring his pulse, pulse ox etc. Increased his cardizem dose and started him on coumadin--yuck. He has an appt. with the cardiologist next Thursday. He also switched to another cardiologist--he switched to mine--and I like him so much better than his. Mine is so willing to spend time with you when needed and is so very thorough. I know this is confusing but I used to go to his--and it was just you're fine--see ya in a year. and all the while my blood pressure was climbing. Dr. Joe over the last 2 years has weaned me off some meds, changed some, and my numbers have not looked so good in quite a few years. Oh yeah, I had 2 teeth pulled today. So it has been fun fun fun over here. Not complaining, just very grateful that I can see God taking care of things. I have been posting my stash over on ravelry and got a little knitting done on the feather and fan stole. It is almost finished--needs to be done by May 16 and I am reasonably sure that it will be. Well life goes on, the rain falls on the just and the unjust, and that is just the way it is. So I hope you all have a good day and hope to do a post with pics next week. Happy knitting to all.

Ravelry

I can't believe it. As I was getting ready to go to the hospital to see my very pregnant baby daughter, I checked my e-mail, and there it was--my invite from frecklegirl to ravelry. How exciting. Maybe the weekend I will have time to explore and post--but it is baby time here. Hope to be in bed by midnight tonight as I plan to get up at 5:30 am to be back at hospital by 8:00 am (unless I get a phone call sooner.) They are going to start the ptocin aroud 1:30 to 2:00 am and plan to start very slowly. They are thinking maybe by noon tomorrow we shall see the baby--but you never know about these things. I did fill out my profile and set up a flickr acct. so I did do something--that was after the hospital. We are all very excited. Happy knitting to all.
