Hat for Megan
Well here is Megan's hat. Good luck Megan. Hope to have it in the mail soon Mandy. It will look small when you get it--it is very stretchy due to the ribbing and cables. The circumference of the fake head is 21" It is supposed to fit up to an 8 year old. Hope she likes it.
Family Day
Well--went to my baby daughter's on Thursday. She was 35 on Tuesday so we were celebrating her birthday. My mom was the only other person who could come, so I didn't get to see all my children. We did really have a nice day. Andi cannot eat dairy-d/t allergies by Lil Joey. So I didn't buy her a cake, but a cherry pie instead. Due to heavy work schedule this week, and exhaustion, did not have time to bake.
Lil Joey turns 3 months old today. He sure is getting big. He is cooing and smiling and oh so cute...He is also very spoiled-as babies should be. I can't believe the age of my baby--and wonder where all the years went.
Not much knitting content. I am knitting a hat for Megan Read the post for Sun. Jan 13 to see about this on NHknitting mama's blog. I hope to finish it later today after I do some cleaning. Happy Knitting

Yet More Dishrags
These are the last of what I have done since Christmas. I love the praying hands dishcloth and am working on another one for a friend right now. This one was already given to a friend--I actually remembered to take a pic before I gifted it!! The pattern can be found here. Then I made a tiny cables dishcloth. I put 3 rows of garter stitch at the top and bottom and 3 stitches of garter stitch at each end--not real sure if I like it or not--so I may keep it. The pattern can be found here. And last but not least my wheatfields dishcloth. See post below for the pattern. The pattern does show up better in a solid color.
More Knitting Content
Well for some reason the dishrag bug has bitten me and other than occasional work on a pair of socks that shoud be done, all I have knitted since Christmas are dishrags. Of course I will use them as gifts throughout the year. The ballband dish cloth pattern can be found here. It is the blue and white one. The black and white one is called the bee stitch and can be found here. It is one of my favorite ones to use--not as pretty as some of the other ones though. The green one is the berry basket and can be found here. This one was fun to make. scroll down the page to see the pattern.) The aqua multicolored one is the DW dishcloth--very quick knit and fun to make. The pattern can be found here. And last but not least the feather and fan dishcloth--so pretty. The pattern can be found here. Happy knitting to all.
Gifts To Me
Since I usually give away the dishrags that I make, it was like a breath of fresh air to receive these. The multicolored beige one called, Wheatfields, was a gift from my Mom. She made it when she stayed overnight with us for Thanksgiving. Thanks Mom! The pattern can be found here. The other two were given to me by my oldest daughter as part of my Christmas gift. Thanks Kel! She has been recently bitten by the knitting bug. The brown one is a Wheatfields one. The gold one is called Berry Basket. The pattern can be found here. (scroll down) Happy Knitting

Stolen from April
What Christine Means |
You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out. Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong. You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do. You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. |
I stole this from April's blog. Pretty interesting. Adds a little fun to the blog.

Family Day
Yesterday was another wonderful family day. First had lunch with my Mom and had a great visit. Then she and I went to see my oldest daughter--and once again, another great visit. She has fibromyalgia and has not been feeling well--so we didn't overstay our welcome as we wanted her to be able to lie down. Then off to my Mom's for more visiting and a little knitting time. I had to laugh, because for some reason--unbeknownst to us--we have both been addicted to knitting dishcloths this month. (I call them dishrags) My husband insists he never heard of the term dishrags and where did it come from. Have called them that all my life. Will post pics at a later date. They are taken but not downloaded into the puter at this time. After leaving my Mom's, I went and saw--guess who--my youngest daughter and her kids--and of course Baby Joey is one of them. Alas--in my rushing to leave home I forgot the camera. :o( He has really grown, and when my youngest daughter turns 35 next week I will take pics for you all. I am starting to feel a little better--Christmas really tired me out this year. I have been working about 2 days a week--that way I can save some money and not work so much in the summer when it is really nice out. The warm temps and rain have melted away our foot of snow--but that is ok--as we are promised more snow later this week. It is supposed to hit 70 degrees today. Lovely NE Ohio! Well happy knitting to you all.
