My Baby With Her Baby

Just a little eye candy for ya!

Ashly's Stole

And here is Ashly modeling her feather and fan stole. Can't wait till prom night!

And This is Mom's Cat

My Mom took this cat in--I believe it was a stray that someone found. Found out it is a Maine Coon cat. Huge cat. He is good company for my Mom.

Spent the day with my Mom today--and this is the coat she wore. I didn't even know that she still had it. I made it for her sometime in the early 80's. It still looks great. And when I made the comment that it was back in style, she said,"It never went out of style to me." What a sweet Mom.

Feather and Fan Stole

The stole is done. Of course the real model is much younger and prettier. I just finished it yesterday and still have to get it to her but there is plenty of time. She saw it when I was working on it and really likes it--I am so glad. Happy knitting

Another Contest

Another Meme

I was tagged by Dana from Walking Shadow to do a meme. I guess when you join the blog world that you get invited to these memes and they are really kind of fun.

Here are the rules:
1.When tagged place the name and URL on your blog.
2.Post rules on your blog.
3.Write 7 non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4. Name 7 of your favorite blogs.
5.Send an email comment on their blog letting them know they have been tagged.

7 non-important things about myself.
1. I, like Dana, set my clock 15 minutes fast so I will not be late.
2. I hoard yarn.
3. I love to read. Mystery, Romance, History--you name it.
4. I no longer crave chocolate--does that have to do with getting older?
5. I love to be around bodies of water--lakes, oceans, rivers, streams. We have a lake in our back yard.
6. I am a dog lover--I love other people's big dogs--but prefer small ones for myself.--We have a Jack Russell named Jill.
7. I love to knit and crochet.

7 of my favorite blogs.
1. Life With Boys.
2. Clandistine and Candor
3. Lovin Comfort Knits
4. NH Knitting Mama
5. Javajem
6. A Friend to Knit With
7. Brownberry Chronicles.

So I've done 2 in a coupla days. Happy knitting

And Life Goes On

No pics to post. Just thought I'd let you all know why I have been busy. My husband was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation this past week--so we have been running. Dr.'s, labs, etc. He has been getting extremely fatigued and short of breath for weeks now with any kind of exertion--and he finally--yes finally--went to the Dr.'s. He thought the whole thing was respiratory and here it was cardiac. We had to get a new family doc a few years ago--and I really like the one we got--but now I really really like him. He spent 2 hours with my husband at a squeeze in appt. on Wed. in his office. Called his cardiologist etc. Had my husband walking up and down the hall monitoring his pulse, pulse ox etc. Increased his cardizem dose and started him on coumadin--yuck. He has an appt. with the cardiologist next Thursday. He also switched to another cardiologist--he switched to mine--and I like him so much better than his. Mine is so willing to spend time with you when needed and is so very thorough. I know this is confusing but I used to go to his--and it was just you're fine--see ya in a year. and all the while my blood pressure was climbing. Dr. Joe over the last 2 years has weaned me off some meds, changed some, and my numbers have not looked so good in quite a few years. Oh yeah, I had 2 teeth pulled today. So it has been fun fun fun over here. Not complaining, just very grateful that I can see God taking care of things. I have been posting my stash over on ravelry and got a little knitting done on the feather and fan stole. It is almost finished--needs to be done by May 16 and I am reasonably sure that it will be. Well life goes on, the rain falls on the just and the unjust, and that is just the way it is. So I hope you all have a good day and hope to do a post with pics next week. Happy knitting to all.

Grace from Lovin Comfort Knits tagged me for a book meme--so must play.
For the book tag, here are the rules:
Pick a book at least 123 pages long.
Open that book to page 123.
Find the fifth sentence and post the next three.
Then tag five other people to do the same.
The book is Back to Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber.

And please don't let her come here again." "Not even to order flowers?" he challenged. With business so slow Colette didn't dare turn him down.

Things have been really busy here, so I am not taking the time to tag specific persons. If ya wanna play join on in.

Hope you all have a great day and happy knitting.

sock contest

Run on over to Vera's Crafty Blog--especially if you like to knit socks. Grea contest and the prize is a box of sock patterns. How good can it get.

Well the stole is about halfway done--so I thought I would post a coupla pics. This should look great with the prom dress pictured a few posts down. I would like to have it done by Sunday as that is her Birthday party--even though it is not her birthday gift--just an Ashly gift. But with the busy schedule I have I will be happy to have it done by prom. Happy knitting.

Finally the promised pic of Joe Joe. And of course another pic of Jill--aren't they both adorable. Joe Joe is eating some solid food and we found out that day he didn't like carrots! I wish I could have gotten a pic of the face when he first tasted them--but the look was over so quickly. Jill is slowly adjusting--even doing some peeing and pooping outside. She does not like to be left alone, which is understandable after being with another dog all her life--but she certainly is enjoying all the one on one attention she gets here! There is some knitting going on here. Right now I am working on the feather and fan stole for my grandaughter Ashly's prom night. I have been finally inventorying a tiny little bit of my stash and entering it into ravelry's data base. That for me is a long slow process and will probably take 6 months or so. Well happy knitting to all.

Prom Time

Won't she be just the prettiest girl at her prom in May. The dress is a size 3. Needs hemmed, other than that fits perfectly. I am making a feather and fan stole for her in case it is cool. Happy knitting!! BTW this is my grandaughter.
